At WOMAD some of our musical and artistic guests will be creating their favourite dishes from their homelands on the Nova Energy Taste the World stage. Films
Enjoy a selection of evening films under the stars. Films are usually about one-hour long. Stay tuned for this year programme.![]()
Global Village
The Global Village is packed with art, craft and food from around the globe. More than 80 stalls trading quality products bring the world’s markets to New Zealand. ![]()
Kidzone
Kidzone is a creative programme for young ones. It is situated within the magical Brooklands Zoo so check out the animals while you are there.![]()
Kunming Garden
When you want to chill out, and relax, and enjoy great food and wines head to this area! Step through the Moon Gate and discover Nova Energy's Taste the World cooking programme, the Sustainable Village, and the WOBAR.![]()
Paepae
Paepae is a place to welcome our visitors from near and far. It’s a place to meet, and mix, with representatives from tribes from around Mt. Taranaki and hear our stories.![]()
Seniors viewing platforms

Thanks to the TSB Bank WOMAD New Zealand provides seniors (over 65 years) viewing platforms at the three main stages. Our research shows there are loyal seniors who come to WOMAD so the festival team and the TSB Bank have come up with a way to make their festival experience easier and more enjoyable. Seniors will be able to access elevated viewing platforms at the three main stages. Thanks TSB Bank - we know the seniors really benefit from your support.
Sustainable Village
This village showcases sustainable products and concepts that you can embrace in your every day life.
Venue
The stunning Brooklands Park & the TSB Bowl of Brooklands in New Plymouth, Taranaki, has gained a reputation as one of the most beautiful outdoor venues in the world and is again home to WOMAD 2012. Camping is available on-site. ![]()
WOMAD store
The WOMAD store is full of WOMAD merchandise. Grab yourself a souvenir t-shirt or your favourite artists CD – you can even get it signed if you want by them at the CD signings that are scheduled. Check out the blackboard about who will be signing and when.
There’s something for everyone in the WOMAD store the only difficulty is deciding which souvenir you will take home with you.
Workshops
You can take part in a workshop with some of the performers… explore your vocal range, dance to a different beat, or meet and be inspired by an artist. Workshop details will be released closer to the festival. ![]()
