The 2013 festival is set to tantalise the senses with an impressive array of gardens and an inspiring and diverse events programme. From juvenile buds to inky blossoms of colour, we are thrilled to present our 26th festival within the majestic setting that is Taranaki.
Our programme for 2013 is a fusion of some of the greater pleasures in life: Food, fashion and art combine to make up a delectable serving of enjoyment for all ages!
The highly anticipated Landscape Design Project for 2013 is unlike anything showcased in Taranaki before, a family of giant willow elephants will be sure to amaze and impress. Other highlights include the Spring fashion event – a great success from last year and a vibrant addition to the festival.
Guest speakers include the award winning satirist, documentary maker, writer, stage/screen director and self-confessed failed gardener Te Radar, as well as an impressive line-up for our Newstalk ZB Garden Speaker Series.
New additions to the festival include Tai Chi in the Garden, High Tea with a twist, and New Zealand’s first Master Chef, Brett McGregor will join us for an afternoon of flavour, food and behind the scenes stories.
In keeping with the continual growth and variety we have some exciting new gardens and gardeners joining the festival this year, and it seems only fitting that the festival team has grown as well. Cleo Wood has joined our team as Festival Co-ordinator and will be working alongside Lisa Ekdahl the Festival Manager.
We would like to welcome all new comers, and thank our supporters for their contributions which make it possible for us to showcase our ten day events programme and dynamic array of private and public gardens to New Zealand and the world.
