Landscape Design Project
This year we are bringing to the festival, with the support of the TSB Community Trust, John Pugh the renowned trompe l’oeil artist who will beautify an inner-city wall in the Huatoki Plaza in New Plymouth.
As it seems almost universal that people take delight in being visually tricked. John’s works attract a lot of attention worldwide. He focuses primarily on mural painting, often large scale and life size. The technique John uses, namely trompe L’oeil and literally meaning trick of the eye, is a surreal art form he has perfected to create award-winning works around the globe.
Often bringing photographic clarity to his works, John creates a 3D impression giving the illusion of something that is not there!
John’s design will weave together aspects that have significance to our region as well as architectural elements providing the depth that is distinctive of his work.
Come and be transfixed by an intriguing art work of spectacular portions!
